My life with the Crimson Alchemist.

Sunday was Father’s Day! We celebrated as a family in the morning by making a Father’s Day brunch. I don’t usually put chocolate chips in pancakes, but it was a special occasion!

Father’s Day Brunch!

I wanted to do brunch for Kimblee specifically because it is the only kind of food he is shown eating in the manga (besides just coffee), although it was shown in an omake instead of in the manga properly:

Help him.

Also on Father’s Day weekend, I received two pieces of artwork which made me so happy. The first illustration is by Coffea (@CoffeaCake on x.com). I really wanted to see more art of Protoype Kimblee, and Coffea delivered amazingly!!

Prototype Kimblee with his megane and spiked ahoges has a somewhat intimidating design (intelli idol), but Coffea is the master of l comfy slice of life illustrations and managed to capture him with the cutest of expressions! He looks like he is teasing or humorously judging the viewer. Maybe he is monitoring how much cream I need in my coffee… he takes his black, but cream in your coffee helps protect the teeth! I keep telling him this but he likes the bitter taste of black coffee. Oh well…

These are the types of moments that play out in my head when I look at Coffea’s work! Every time Coffea draws these sweet and everyday moments of Kimblee, I feel as if I am transported to a beautiful day spent with my darling alchemist!

I also received a gift from Enna (@enn_tmrw on x.com). She painted an absolutely beautiful Kimblee on summer vacation. I had requested a red lotus motif, and here is the final illustration:

Enna’s coloring is absolutely gorgeous. Seeing Kimblee with a humble, relaxed expression makes me happier than anything. He went through so much in the manga, and while he never stopped smiling (except for that one time…), he still endured many failures and challenges. That’s why when I see him happy and at ease, it makes me feel a sense of relief and peace for him. It’s also nice seeing a picture of him turning the camera toward me for a change, as I feel like I am always the one taking pictures of him! But who is to say he’s not doing the same in his dimension?

Thank you both for drawing Kimblee!!

Craft Together

I hope you had a good Father’s Day whether you celebrate or not. I am fortunate to have both my parents still healthy, so we spent the evening with my dad. While we were out, we saw a new fiber arts boutique in the mall that is both a store and a space to take classes. I’m so happy fiber art is becoming more popular. It is a great medium to work with because you can create something tangible and AI-proof. AI could never crochet a cardigan or sew a plush.

Have a great rest of your week! With love from the Kimblee family. ❤️
