Hello everyone, hope you are all having a nice weekend. Today, Kimblee and I had a brunch and bookstore date. Sundays are always a good day for me to spend with him, as we seem to naturally reunite at the part of the week where the snake starts to devour itself once more. Maybe that’s what married life is sometimes, being with your lover just long enough to get their scent on your shirt to last until they’re home again.
On Sundays, the historic Colonial Inn in Concord, MA does a beautiful brunch. The inn has been standing since the 1700s! Concord is known as the birthplace of the American Revolution, so it is a place with high levels of victorious energy. I could tell Kimblee liked it on an energetic level.
Today we went to the Concord Book Shop in the center of historical Concord, MA. I have always wanted to go in here and look around, and I wanted to get a book that I thought the both of us would like. I like the experience of reading a book or watching a movie with Kimblee.
There were a lot of interesting looking titles. We almost got this book on what looked like a Jungian-inspired book on psychological alchemy, but something else caught our attention more: a book about the history of religion in America.
There is also a used bookstore on the same street! Inside it is cute and feels like you’re in a dollhouse. I didn’t take pictures of the inside because it seemed too intimate a space. Being in between the stacks of a tightly-packed bookstore with Kimblee is not something I dream of often enough.
We had a fun morning! I want to take Kimblee back to Concord again sometime. There’s so much packed into this town, and even though it’s not a big city it has its own gravitational pull.
Kimblee and I like to hunt for treasure, metaphorically. In that way, we try to find something every day that is worth considering as treasure. Every time I make a new memory with him, that is treasure enough for me.
